NOTE: deliveries can be done in a Covid safe manner. The time commitment can be a several hours a month or a few hours a week. Most of these opportunities can be done in the comfort of your own home. Other areas include: equipment transporters, clerical help, outreach for computer equipment and research for fund raising. Other needs: The Community Computer Connections Program has many other needs - and we are certain we can find a spot for you in our Program. For this purpose, the file is loaded into the main memory (RAM) and runs there as a CCCP process (also called a task).
#WHAT IS CCCP IN TERMS OF COMPUTER SOFTWARE#
If you start the software Attachmate 32-bit Software on your PC, the commands contained in cccp.dll will be executed on your PC. CCCP offers this opportunity to our volunteers while making a difference in the lives of others. The cccp.dll is an executable file on your computer's hard drive. The Retired Senior Volunteer Program's mission is to provide diverse volunteer opportunities to seniors that want to remain active in meaningful community service. Since 2006 the Community Computer Connections Program has provided more than 5200 furbished computers to low-income families and individuals on Long Island. CCCP provides refurbished computers free of charge to individuals, families, and veterans across Nassau and Suffolk counties who would otherwise not be able to afford this equipment. The Community Computer Connections Program (CCCP) is sponsored by the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, a not-for-profit agency. The Installer function is one of the most satisfying aspects of the Community Computer Connections Program - this volunteer gets to see the reaction of families and children who never thought they could have their own computer! No detailed technical knowledge of computers or software is required. The volunteer installer connects the equipment, informs the client what software is on the computer and provides a brief explanation of PC operation basics. The volunteer installer will pick up (via personal vehicle - no heavy lifting required) the refurbished computer from a technical volunteer's home and deliver the equipment to the recipient client's home.
